Upwise from MetLife is a financial wellness app that supports users in balancing day-to-day financial needs with long term planning. The app is offered to users with MetLife benefits packages. In collaboration with the design and product team, I led the design efforts for the app home page, graphs, new student loan calculator feature, financial insights feature, and visual design refresh including illustrations.

 The user sees the budget and spend graphs after linking a financial account and creating a budget. The original graphs were dark and users had difficulty distinguishing between the two graphs. My solution was to introduce a pill navigation clearly l

The user sees the budget and spend graphs after linking a financial account and creating a budget. The original graphs were dark and users had difficulty distinguishing between the two graphs. My solution was to introduce a pill navigation clearly labeling the graphs and indicating to the user where they were in the interface. I also re-designed the graphs in a lighter color palette and modified the budget graph to a dial to indicate clearly to the user whether they were over, at or under budget.

Users receive a link to download Upwise through their employer emails and the original app download page included app store download buttons only. In collaboration with product and marketing, I re-designed a responsive landing page to also include a QR-code and personal email submission section to reduce friction in the transition from a work computer to mobile phone.

 Following the landing page re-design, there was a 57% increase in app registrations between August and October 2022.
